Curating

I ran my own art gallery in the mid-to- late 90's. This gallery was in a small, old fashioned town surrounded by woods. My juried shows won an award for the "Best Art Gallery Off the Beaten Track" from the Worcester Phoenix in 1989. I think my favorite part of owning the gallery was the jurying and hanging of the shows. Many of my art friends have told me that putting shows together is my strength. I am sure this is because it is such a good time for me. I worked as the property artist for the New York Shakespeare Festival for years in the 80's. I see everything as an instillation or set. I love creating shows that take the viewer on a ride or give them a solid mood or uplifting experience.
